Narrowboat Satellite Domes
Narrowboats have a few problems that are unique to and other mode of transport. The main problem faced by any individual thinking of purchasing a satellite system is that of boat list.
From our experience, most narrow-boats and barges have a tendency to rock as you get on and off the boat or as other boats pass. This usually results in a brief but annoying loss of signal for the person watching television. (Eastenders going off for more than a second is a bad thing. So i'm told.)
We have found that this swaying of the boat can be countered in one of two ways.
1. Please a pole on land and attach your satellite dish to it.
2. Use a satellite dome which is mounted to the roof of the boat.
The key to the success is in the fact that the dish is almost touching the roof of the boat and moves very little then the boat sways. Now this is not guaranteed when you have several boats passing at once, causing the boat to list badly. But under normal circumstances the satellite dome will work perfectly.
